[toc]Detroit’s Greektown Casino-Hotel is finally getting the rebranding its owners promised almost 18 months after it was announced.

JACK Entertainment LLC announced this week that Greektown Casino-Hotel’s transition to the new JACK Detroit Casino-Hotel is now underway. Additionally, the company said it expects the transition to be complete on May 1, 2018.

The Greektown Casino-Hotel first opened in November 2000. It remains one of only threecommercial casino properties in Detroit and the entire state of Michigan. The other two properties are the MotorCity Casino Hotel and MGM Grand Detroit.

JACK Entertainment is the rebranding of Quicken Loans and Cleveland Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert‘s Rock Gaming. Itacquired the Greektown Casino-Hotel in 2013. In February 2016, the company announced it would be rebranding and renaming the property the JACK Detroit Casino Hotel Greektown by the end of 2016.

JACK Entertainment has its headquarters in Detroit. According to the company, the JACK name represents a progressive and rebellious attitude.

The plan is to bring together all of the company’s gaming interests under one brand. Plus, the properties would come together under a single player loyalty and rewards program.

In 2016, JACK Entertainment bought out partner Caesars Entertainment interests in three Ohio gambling institutions. These included Horseshoe Cleveland, Horseshoe Cincinnati and the ThistleDown Racino.

These three properties are now JACK Cleveland Casino, JACK Cincinnati Casino, and JACK Thistledown Racino.

The Greektown Casino-Hotel rebranding

The final phase of the plan is now underway. For example, a 1,500-unit exterior and interior signage package is being installed. This includes a sign that spans the width of the hotel’s rooftop. This new exterior sign is being lifted by helicopter to the top of the 30-story hotel and casino building and installed on Saturday, Sept. 30.

“Detroit is JACK’s hometown and we want to make a big splash with our new brand and the casino’s dramatically expanded new dining and entertainment offerings,” JACK Entertainment CEO Matt Cullensaid in a release. “Our entire team is eager to introduce all that’s new to the city and our guests.”

In addition to the new signage, the casino will also be finishing up a multimillion-dollar eating area renovation. The former Market District will transform into Monroe Market. This new dining area will feature six new fast-casual eateries. A new bar is under construction as well.

The Greektown Casino-Hotel in Detroit’s Greektown Historic District currently features 100,000-square feet of gaming floor space. This includes almost 3,000slots, a wide variety of table games and a 12-table live poker room.

Every casino has its pros and cons.

Sometimes, you need to ignore a casino’s negatives because their positives are so strong. You sacrifice something you kind of want to play at a casino that excels in other areas.

This describes House of Jack casino.

There are a few things that House of Jack can do to improve their casino. In fact, these things might even be deal-breakers for some of our readers. You might even be one of them, if there’s a super-specific game you want to play or if you want to be treated like a VIP.

That said, they do several things well for a brand-new casino. Many of these things, in my humble and very accurate opinion, should override the things they may not have – for most players.

Otherwise, you might miss out on a pretty solid casino.

All right, enough teasing – let’s talk specifics. The review starts in the next section.

About House of Jack Casino

House of Jack launched their casino in 2017. That’s right, ladies and gents. They’re a brand-new casino.

I won’t lie. This comes with risks.

New casinos are often risky to join because they have no experience. They have no idea how to start, run, or grow their casino.

Many new casinos make the mistake of launching a cookie-cutter casino that you and I have seen a million times before. They offer the same games, bonuses, and sometimes even use the same website design and layout as their competitors (or sister casinos).

Even worse yet, many of these “operators” have no clue how much money they need or how to manage the money they have. Stories of casinos that go bankrupt and screw players over in the process are not in short supply.

I’m just Mr. Sunshine over here, huh?

Hold on; I’m getting to the more positive stuff. Like, that you don’t need to worry as much about House of Jack. Because while they may be new, we know a little bit about their parent company and sister casinos.

For example, House of Jack is owned and operated by Vegas Partner Lounge Casinos. This is the same company behind Casino-Mate.com. Our company reviewed them not long ago and gave them a positive rating.

Speaking of ratings, House of Jack has average to above-average ratings depending on where you look. In fact, some of our sources trust them so much that they’re willing to help you if you run into any issues playing here.

That cheers things up a little bit, doesn’t it?

As far as their casino goes, House of Jack didn’t go the cookie-cutter route. They don’t work with any unique software providers, as that’s not possible. However, they do work with a unique blend of providers you won’t often see elsewhere. This will give you a mix of games you’d be hard-pressed to find at other casinos.

I’ll talk about their games in a few minutes. You’ll even get to see specific examples of games titles you’ll be able to play here.

The point I’m trying to make is that, while new casinos can be scary, you should give House of Jack the benefit of the doubt. I’ve not seen anything that would stop me from playing here. Between their reputation, games, and offers, I see some value in playing here.

Let’s see if you agree with me by the time we finish this review.

Who Can Play at House of Jack Casino?

You cannot play at House of Jack if you live in one of the following countries.

  • USA
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Cyprus
  • France
  • Greece
  • Philippines
  • Hungary
  • Italy
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • South Africa
  • United Kingdom
  • Romania
  • Czech Republic
  • Ireland

I still recommend you take a few minutes to look over House of Jack’s terms and conditions. Things change fast in the online gambling industry, so a country that’s restricted one day can be fine the next.

Software Suppliers

House of Jacks works with several high-quality software providers. You’ll find games from the following list of companies.

  • Microgaming
  • Quickspin
  • Betsoft
  • Spigo
  • Play’n GO

There are a couple software providers I’d like to see them add to this list. It would mean that they could offer a specific kind of game that they don’t currently have.

I know, I’m such a tease. I’ll tell you exactly what they’re missing, and all the things you can play instead, when we get to the game section.

The Good Stuff

400+ Casino Games for You to Play

House of Jack has more than 400 casino games for you to play. Unfortunately, they don’t offer live dealer games. If you can look past that, though, you’ll have plenty of slots, table games, and video poker machines to choose from.

Claim a $1,000 Deposit Bonus and 200 Free Spins

If you make a deposit today, you’ll be able to claim a MASSIVE $1,000 deposit bonus. What’s neat about this offer is that you can claim it over your first 3 deposits instead of all at once. You’ll also receive 200 free spins, divvied out to you over 10 days.

Phone Support

They offer phone support, which is impressive. Many big brands don’t even do that.

This shows me that they care about customer support, which is a big plus.

The Bad Stuff

Game Availability Depends on Your Location

This is nothing new, but House of Jack’s game selection will depend on where you’re playing from. This is because software developers have rules they have to follow, too. One of which is the jurisdictions they can and cannot offer their games in.

This means that some of the games we list below won’t be available to you. Of course, that may also mean that some games that are not available to someone else will be available to you.

No Live Dealer Games

Live dealer games are standard nowadays. Unfortunately, House of Jack doesn’t work with a software developer who develops these games. Let’s cross our fingers that that changes in the near future.

Game Selection

Let’s talk about the most important aspect of ANY casino – their games.

House of Jack has more than 400 casino games you can play. That includes video poker machines, table and card games, slots, and more.

Unfortunately, they don’t have a live casino. That means you won’t be able to play games like Live Blackjack, Live Roulette, or Live Casino Hold’em.

This is why I said earlier that, while House of Jack’s software lineup is good, they should add a few developers. NetEnt and Evolution Gaming would be the first two that I’d add. It would enable House of Jack to expand their offerings.

If that’s not a deal-breaker for you, they still have more games than you’ll get around to playing. Instead of telling you, though, I’ll show you.

Video Poker

House of Jack has a stellar video poker section. During my last visit, I found more than 45 games to choose from. Here’s a list of the machines you can play.

  • Joker Poker Multi-Hand
  • Bonus Deluxe Bonus Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • Double Jackpot Poker
  • Split Way Royal
  • Tens or Better
  • Deuces Wild Multi-Hand
  • Bonus Poker Multi-Hand
  • All American Poker
  • Bonus Deluxe Multi-Hand
  • All American Multi-Hand
  • Bonus Deuces
  • Bonus Poker
  • Joker Poker
  • Double Joker Poker
  • Deuces & Joker Poker
  • And more!

I found more than 15 unique titles. This is pretty good compared to most casinos I’ve reviewed recently.

As for the remaining 30+ games, they’ll be duplicates of the games listed above, but from a different software provider. Or they’ll be multi-hand or professional series variants.

I’ve played several of these games in the past. Something I thought was cool was how much they reminded me of the video poker machines I’ve played in Las Vegas, ugly graphics and all.

Not every machine has ugly graphics, though. Some machines have first-person, 3D designs. They’re realistic with their shiny trim, slot handles, and the additional machines surrounding you on the casino floor.

It’s a matter of perspective. Though, if you’re looking for something fancy, you should skip playing video poker altogether.

As for stakes, I’ve seen machines where you could wager as low as $0.02 per coin on up to $1. The maximum you could bet is $5 per round. At least, on the machines I reviewed.

Higher stakes would be nice. You might have to look around to see if they offer them. At the very least, you’ll get to play for higher amounts if you play one of their multi-hand variants. On these machines, you can play as many as 100 hands at the same time.

Overall, they’ve done a solid job. There’s little to complain about here.

Table Games

There are more than 20 table games you can play at House of Jack. Here are some of the games you’ll find here.

  • Baccarat
  • Red Dog
  • Roulette
  • 3 Card Poker
  • Pontoon
  • Spanish 21
  • Double Exposure Blackjack
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Zoom Roulette
  • Super 7
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • Ride’m Poker
  • Poker3 Heads Up Hold’em
  • Pirate 21
  • Oasis Poker
  • European Roulette
  • Craps
  • Caribbean Poker
  • American Roulette
  • Three Card Rummy
  • Top Card Trumps
  • Casino War
  • Cyberstud Poker
  • Draw Hi-Lo
  • And more!

One thing I really liked about their table game selection is that it’s not full of duplicate titles. This can be hard to accomplish when you work with as many developers as House of Jack does. They have a table section that looks robust.

The other thing I liked is how this list isn’t dominated by blackjack or roulette variants. I like playing these games as much as the next guy, but I’ve reviewed casinos where their table game selection is made up of 50% or more of these games. Where they fail hard is when they don’t add enough of the other games to make everyone else happy.

House of Jack strikes a good balance between unique and duplicate games and their game variants. This is a huge thumbs up for them.

While I was there, I checked out a few of their games. I’m happy to report that their games are realistic-looking. You can tell their designers took their time to add subtle details, such as the grain in the wood or the reflection in the trim.

However, the table stakes were less impressive. I only found games where you could play for $1 to $100. I didn’t check every single game they have, though. Between that and only being able to view the games available in my region, it’s quite possible you’ll find tables with higher limits than this with a little bit of searching.

Slots

Entertainment

Let’s cover House of Jack’s slot machines next.

You’re going to have a solid section of slots to choose from, thanks to developers like Microgaming, Betsoft, and Quickspin.

I’ll talk about what makes some of these providers unique in just a second. First, here are a few examples of slot machines you’ll find at House of Jack.

  • 7 Sins
  • Gypsy Rose
  • Mr. Vegas
  • More Gold Diggin’
  • Pinnocchio
  • Tycoons
  • Easter Eggs
  • Happy Halloween
  • Irish Gold
  • Wild Blood
  • Scandinavian Babes
  • Leprechaun Goes to Hell
  • Wild Blood
  • Mr. Toad
  • Oily Business
  • King Cashalot
  • Lots-a-Loot
  • Playboy
  • Good Girl Bad Girl
  • A Night in Paris
  • Racing for Pinks
  • Major Millions
  • Booty Time
  • Bridezilla

This barely scrapes the surface of all the slot machines you can play here. Now, let’s talk about why some of these software providers are so special.

Microsoft and Quickspin are special because they have licensed slot machines. These are slots based on intellectual property that other companies own. For example, Microgaming doesn’t own Playboy (obviously), but they’ve gotten permission from Playboy to create a game around the brand.

There are MANY slots like this. Most of my favorite slots are those based on board games like Life, Monopoly, and Clue. I’m also a huge fan of slots based on TV shows and movies. For example, I’ve enjoyed playing slots about Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, and The Lord of the Rings.

Then there’s Betsoft. What makes their slots unique is that nearly all of them are 3D. These often remind me of a Pixar movie (or similar) mashed with a video game. They have fun intros, bonus rounds, and characters who bounce around, talk, and just make the slot more entertaining overall.

Between these three software developers, as well as the rest of their roster, you’ll have plenty of slots to choose from. That includes progressive jackpots, as well as slots revolving around all kinds of themes and machines with all sorts of features.

My only wish is that I’d like to see some slots from NetEnt. Not because they’re better, but because they offer slots that are different.

That’s not a complaint, though, just a wish from someone who’s already spoiled. As is, players will be plenty happy playing slots here.

Promotions

House of Jack has several offers for you to claim. This includes a welcome bonus, reload offers, free spins, and more.

Let’s look at the details for each one.

Welcome Bonus

What makes House of Jack’s welcome bonus unique is that they let you claim it over your first 3 deposits. This is helpful because not everyone has enough money to claim a bonus this large at one time.

However, lots of people can do payments, which is sort of how this offer is structured. This allows more people to claim (more of) the bonus than they would’ve otherwise.

Here’s how the bonus works:

  • 1st Deposit – Get a 100% match bonus up to $500. House of Jack will also give you 200 free spins. You’ll receive these at the rate of 20 per day, for 10 days.
  • 2nd Deposit – Get a 50% bonus up to $300.
  • 3rd Deposit – Get a 100% match bonus up to $200.

The minimum deposit to claim any of these offers is $20. Claim the full amount, and you’ll have an extra $100 to play with.

Keep in mind that each offer will have a 50x playthrough. They also impose a 100-bet minimum before you can cash out your winnings, which is sort of ridiculous.

On the bright side, any money you win from your free spins has no playthrough. Anything you win can be played with or cashed out immediately.

You’ll also want to keep in mind that this is their base playthrough. Any other game you play may contribute a different amount to the playthrough. I recommend you read their terms and conditions to learn what the playthrough is for the games you want to play.

Weekend Slinger

Make a deposit between Saturday and Sunday, and House of Jack will give you a 35% match bonus up to $100. You’ll also receive 20 free spins, which you can use on their Sticky Bandits slot machine. Deposit before midnight on Saturday, and you’ll receive an additional 20 free spins.

Rock On & Spin

Receive between 20 and 100 free spins to use on The Wild Chase slot machine. All you have to do to qualify is make a deposit of $20 or more. The more you deposit, the more free spins you’ll get.

Match Flash Back

Choose between two offers – a 25% match bonus on a deposit of $20 or more or a 50% match bonus on deposits of $150 or more.

Choose Your Treasure

Choose between two offers – a 30% bonus up to $100 or 25 free spins. The free spins are for their Gold Lab machine.

Mystery Match Friday

Every week, House of Jack will give you a few mystery deposit bonuses to choose from on their deposit page. This changes each week, which mixes things up a little. That’s always a good thing in this industry.

New Game Releases

Whenever House of Jack releases a new slot machine, you’ll have the opportunity to make a deposit and claim some free spins to check it out.

Banking

House of Jack has a solid selection of banking options. Before we show you what those are, let’s take a second to talk about banking limits and fees.

For deposits, the minimum is $10. It’s $20 if you want to receive a bonus. They do not have a maximum limit on deposits.

For cash-outs, they let you withdraw as much as $10,000 per week. While limits suck, few people will be able to complain about $10,000 per week or roughly $40,000 per month. What’s more, these limits don’t apply to progressive jackpots. If you win a jackpot, you can cash it out in full once the win has been verified.

They say payment processing can take up to four hours. They don’t process payments over the weekend, though, which means you may have to wait until Monday if you put in your request too late.

Once your request has been processed, your payment can be available in minutes to as long as 3-5 days. It just depends on the option you use.

VIP Program

House of Jack has a VIP program. However, it’s by invitation only.

I’ve written about this before, but it really surprises me how full of themselves they are. House of Jack says that you need to “blow them away with your gaming loyalty” before they’ll consider you for their program.

Right, because everyone is going to spend lots of money and confess their love and loyalty for a casino that’s been online for 5 minutes.

Meh.

Anyway, if you decide that you’re going to be loyal to Jack, then you’ll receive the following perks.

  • Dedicated VIP manager
  • Exclusive bonuses and deals
  • Exclusive VIP offers
  • Free gifts
  • Larger cash-out limits
  • Expedited cash-outs

Nothing special – everyone says this is what they offer.

That said, it’s nice to see that they cater to high-limit players. It’d just be a little better if they weren’t high and mighty about it. It’d also be great to see them offer a general VIP program for players who aren’t high rollers.

Low-stakes players like incentives, too.

Customer Service

Jacks Entertainment Online Casino Facebook

If you need help or have any questions, you can reach out to House of Jack using these options.

  • Live Chat
  • Phone: 1800 006 285
  • Email:[email protected]

I’ll be honest; I didn’t expect to see House of Jack offer phone support. It’s crazy to see a small casino dedicate resources to helping customers over the phone.

When I tested their customer service, I didn’t go that route. I didn’t want to clog their lines with something unimportant, so I sent them an email instead. I received a response in less than an hour, which is impressive. They also answered my question the first time around, which is a huge bonus.

Their customer support gets a virtual high-five from me.

Would I Play at House of Jack Casino?

Yeah, I think so.

If you’re a live casino player, or if you need a VIP or cash-back program, House of Jack won’t be a great fit for you.

If you’re willing to sacrifice either of those things, though, they might work for you. House of Jack has an otherwise excellent selection of casino games, several offers to claim, and a rather large $1,000 deposit bonus.

Between all that and their above-average reputation, I’d have no problem giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying them out.
